"Pittoresque"
Arts and Nature Centre of Domaine Régional de Chaumont sur Loire. 2009.

Entitled “Pittoresque”, the work created for the park by Dimitri Xenakis and Maro
Avrabou relies on the very definition of this word which appeared in Italy in
1708: “Pittoresco” derived from “Pittore”, the “Painter”. A series of seven
transparent framed paintings will show the Landscape through out-of- scale photos of flowers.
This installation, unusual at first glance, is mainly a tribute to the site and to
the loving relations maintained by painting, the park and nature.
